Being an Online Learner Student Ambassadors

As I am coming to the end of my studies and time as an online Student Ambassador for Edinburgh University, I realise it was one of the best decisions I made!

The role is flexible in that I have been able to choose my own shifts as and when I am available meaning I have been able to do it while working full-time and studying part-time. My decision to become an online Student Ambassador has been beneficial as it has allowed me to develop and gain additional skills and experience.

As an Online Student Ambassador, I have been provided the opportunity to share my experience of the University of Edinburgh and studying online with prospective students. Before I started, I had no idea what online learning was like or what to expect! Therefore, I have enjoyed informing prospective students on what to expect from this type of learning. Since I studied my undergraduate on campus, I have been able to provide a well-rounded view of what it is like to study online and how it compares to studying on campus.

I have had the opportunity to participate in online open days and write blog posts too! However, with my final year being quite demanding and working full-time, I have not been able to commit to as many ambassadors shifts as I had hoped this year! Despite this, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as an online Student Ambassador at the University of Edinburgh and I would recommend anyone thinking about doing it to give it a go!
