We work with local primary and secondary school students through a variety of different programmes and partnerships to raise their engagement with Higher Education early on. Primary and Early Secondary Years Initiative Every year we visit Edinburgh city primary school pupils who feed into secondary schools with the lowest progression rate to higher education. We normalise and contextualise higher education through school visits and campus-based classes. Early Years Initiative IntoUniversity Partnership A collaboration between the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and IntoUniversity to provide after-school academic tuition, mentoring and programmes to enable young people in local areas to achieve their ambitions. IntoUniversity Impact Challenge Partnership A partnership project between the four universities in Edinburgh that aims to engage with young people from local schools to explore the idea of university before their senior years of secondary school. Impact Challenge Sutton Trust Summer School This summer school enables eligible UK secondary school students to experience Edinburgh as a real student: living, studying and socialising in the heart of Scotland’s vibrant capital city. They get to explore subjects they're interested in, take part in exciting social activities, receive expert support on your journey to university, and stay in halls of residence. Sutton Trust Summer School Educated Pass Educated Pass works with young boys and girls from working class communities that play for local youth football teams. Using their commitment to athleticism, we engage the players – and bring relevancy to - school curriculum and societal issues through the lens of football.
